the beaming bee was speeding free
reeling sweet honey from everywhere.
today was the lover bee’s lucky day,
when he would be the best lover bee
for his queen bee today.

once there was a little compact car
and a tiny kitty car sleeping on its bonnet
everywhere the car went, from near to far
the kitty car too would soon get on it.

the fawn feeds full on flowers
her lover dog drowns his day in dreams,
a slow dawn falls on the lovers
and their binding breaths in between.
5
a curled slumber churns the cat
sleeping with a speaking rat,
mumbling sleepily, “blessed are the meek”;
a meow tucks in with a metered squeak.
