On 16th August, 2025, an unexpected spell of evening rain welcomed the freshers of HS department at the Central Lecture Theatre. With a slow start, the HS mixer night titled ‘vanakkam nanba’(translated: welcome friend) picked up energy as the evening unfolded. The event lived up to its name, creating a warm space for the freshers and seniors to connect, bond, and create memories.
Our freshers lit up the stage with their unstoppable energy which was displayed through group dances and solo singing performances. They came, performed and conquered—this batch definitely brings in new energy to the department. The department secretary and her team set the stage on fire with their exhilarating steps and aura. Special kudos must be said to the department legislator for bringing in so much passion along with her captivating expressions. Even as freshies were enthusiastic and full of energy, the seniors did not take a back seat. With much fervour, seniors took the stage for musical and dance performances, adding spirit to the evening. These lively performances were about welcoming the new faces as well as cherishing the bonds between the batches. Last but not least, a big shout out to our PhD scholars for their presence and participation which made the night extra special.
The well-organized event kept space for fun-filled games including musical chairs, blind-fold game, and guess-the-sentence which brought laughter and energy to the crowd. The day ended on a high note when the whole gang participated in Tambola, with cheers and excitement echoing at CLT. An event without good food is like a story without an ending. HS mixer night also created a space for everyone to bond over some delicious food and enjoy the evening with a full tummy and a full heart.
To our dear freshers, this is just the beginning of a beautiful journey. Amidst all the chaos and heartbreaks, remember that you are not alone. Even when you find the path pitch dark, be sure that a flicker of light is waiting for you on the other end. Remember to lend a hand to another person stuck on the path just like you, maybe you both could create a safe place. Enjoy every moment, explore our huge campus, go on trips (maybe an unplanned one), and never restrain yourself from creating memories. After all, memories are the only asset you take back home from campus.
With love,
