Submit to Us!

Anything and everything flies – from Op Eds and replies to Op Eds, to our Category Features, to Memes, Cartoons, Design Creations, Doodles and Limericks.

Even if you only have the first inklings of a creative piece and nothing else, feel free to reach out to any member of our Editorial Team or mail us at art9teen@gmail.com, we’ll help you along the process! In case you don’t get any response within a few days, don’t hesitate to send us a reminder.

The sky is the limit. But stick to human inspiration! We do not accept pieces which use AI.

We accept submissions throughout the year from anyone, be it students, scholars or alumni!

Ripe Vinyl

Hello there, you, who heard a song so good you want to share it with everyone you know. Analyse a song or piece of music in about 600 to 1000 words. Full pieces can be sent in.

HSSpeak

Ever read a term in your textbook that made you stare at the page for two whole minutes trying to make sense out of it? You’re not alone. Analyse a technical term that you see in your course, as simply as possible, in about 700 to 1000 words. Send in proposals for these articles, with the term in question and an outline of how you wish to analyse it.

Book review/Movie Review

Have you read a book/watched a movie that you can’t stop thinking of even though you finished it weeks or years ago? Write a review of it for us in about 700 to 1000 words. Full pieces are welcome.

A Beginner’s Guide to…

Are you tired of talking enthusiastically about an activity or pursuit you’re passionate about,  only to be met with blank stares – or do you have a friend you stare blankly at? Do you wish people knew the basics so that you didn’t have to tell them yourself ? Finished features will ideally be between 800 and 1200 words

Op-Eds

This section is devoted to standing true to our theme of thought and expression. You can rant about the impending apocalypse, political fiascos, global warming, racism, casteism, basically anything that you have an opinion on. As a social science department, this is a space to apply all of the theory you’ve learnt into practice! Finished opinion pieces should ideally be around 800 to 1500 words.

Travelling Typewriter

This section is for all travel-inspired pieces. Whether it’s about the places you’ve been to, want to go, or even a story you heard from a friend- send us a piece in about 800-1000 words about travel.

Poetry

This section is to give release to that poetic impulse within you! You can send in poems related to any topics in any style/form you would like. We do not have any specifications for lines/word limit for poetry as of now.

Reflections

Those random musings which turned into a piece of writing? Or perhaps a tale which got out of hand and decided to weave its own narrative into creative non-fiction? Well, if you have something of the sort for us, then that would go under Reflections. You can send in finished pieces of about 500 to 1500 words.

Scholar’s Corner

This section is for our PhD scholars to explore their research areas and offer personal anecdotes from their research journey. You can send in a short, insightful article to share your thoughts, challenges, and discoveries that emerged during the work. Submissions should be around 1000 to 1200 words.

Art & Illustrations

Are you a designer, illustrator, or digital artist who can weave wonders with colours and shapes? Unleash your creativity and let your imagination take flight on our pages! Your artistic submission can be traditional or digital. Send in your works, be it a single piece or a collection, in the best quality and resolution. Providing a brief description of the work along with it would be highly appreciated.

Cartoons/Comic Strip

Do you have a talent for transforming ideas into captivating and humorous visuals? Share your cartoon sketches that tickle the funny bone or provoke deep reflections. You can also send in fully developed ideas that our illustrators can turn to cartoons/comic strips.

Photography

Capture the essence of life, emotions, and the world around us through your lens. Showcase your photographs that tell powerful stories. You can send in a single photo or multiple photos.

Photo Essays

Submit a sequence of original photographs that convey a narrative or make a point. Enhance the narrative with brief text to provide context and depth. Submissions should ideally include 5 to 10 photographs with relevant accompanying text.

Mood Board

You know that random song you get stuck on or that picture from ten months ago that you chanced upon in your phone gallery or that Pinterest spiral that you go on? Well, you can put that together in a mood board and send it to us. It can also be accompanied with a caption/description of not more than 200 words.

Et cetera:

Breaking boundaries is our forte! Beyond the realms of traditional forms, we encourage unconventional expressions too! You are welcome to send your innovative written or visual content which does not fall under these heads.
